A life lesson taught me by Sandro Gamba, a basketball Hall of Famer, one of the greatest coaches of all time. Success is a matter of hard-working, mindset, and empathy.
Ernesto Sirolli explains this is the best way to help someone, without imposing what we think will be best for them. It’s a reminder to always be open to other people and willing to extend a helping hand when needed.
From “Harry Potter and The Chamber of Secrets”. I often recalled this quote when I was in trouble for various reasons, and it guided me to have a wider view of the situation.
From Walt Disney. If I “think” about something, an idea, I immediately know that there’s a way, one at least, to make it happen, to make it real!
I keep this quote as a sort of value shared within my family, and I very much agree that if there’s a will, one will find a way to achieve it. Not alone, of course: your friends, family, and team also play a huge role.
I couldn't help stealing my motto from Walt Whitman. Don't you find it inspiring that, whatever will happen in life, the show must go on, but you'll never be prevented from generating impact?
I believe in change. I believe in innovation. I believe in people and their powerful connections: they generate change and disruptive things.
Since I was a little one, this quote from my favourite childhood book “Matilda” by Roald Dahl, encouraged me to discover my inner power and reminds me that we all have the potential, intelligence and drive to change the world.
"From "Novecento", Alessandro Baricco. Stories are essential for human beings since they move our imagination and inspiration: they help us to set our targets and our limits and contribute to building our own self. Whoever tells or listens to a story will eventually end up emotionally enriched. Typically, good stories make us experiment with a sense of fulfillment, self-awareness, and deep satisfaction. Is there anything better than this?"
This is something I’ve learned to live by throughout the years together with my friend Lucia. It’s only by doing and experiencing that you can reach your life goals and grow as a person.
I strongly believe that our problems do not lie in what we experience, but in our attitude towards it.
The first time I’ve heard this motto was in “Dead Poets Society”, a beautiful movie. Then, life taught me to live every moment in the most profound way I could not lose any chance.
The first time I listened to this sentence was when I was 8. My father and I were in a parking lot, and a car “stole” the slot we were waiting for, entering the parking in the wrong direction. My father told me this phrase, and from that moment, at the end of the day, I want to ask myself: have you been like that driver?
I borrowed this phrase by James Clear and follow it like a mantra. “Intensity makes a good story. Consistency makes progress.”
These words remind me to always act with the “greater good” in mind: fly the extra mile, help others, and put yourself in uncomfortable situations because you can do it, no matter what.
Why doing something and settle for an “acceptable” result? This phrase from my grandpa Gianfranco helps me never feel “arrived” both in my personal life and in my work activities.
Being productive and efficient should not prevent anyone from being a caring person, especially because small steps go a long way. This is a lesson I try to keep in mind, particularly on tough, busy workdays.
This quote from the Nobel prize winner Richard Feynman, pushed me during my studies and career to seek answers which I can fully understand, examine, and implement.
It’s my motto for now: a quote from the brilliant book “Vita Nostra” by Dyachenkos. It’s really powerful and helpful, and pushes me forward!
If you believe that something is possible, you’re right. If you believe that something is impossible, you’re right. You can do everything in what you believe.
Don’t postpone everything for some time: you need to do it now, or not do it at all if it’s not really important to you. Do it now. Otherwise, it will never be done.
You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take. Don’t miss any opportunities that come your way.
When you focus on something, it will expand and grow. This is a generative concept: it can be applied on your strengths and on what really matters for you.
To me, it’s not just a foundation of mathematics. It’s a principle to follow: if you want to make a change, you can’t just move the “problem” from one part to another. To reach the solution and achieve the desired result, you have to work looking for a different formula.
